Curses

Curses — это библиотека для Unix-подобных ОС, позволяющая создавать интерфейс, подобный графическому, в текстовом режиме. Первая библиотека curses была написана Кеном Арнольдом и поставлялась в комплекте BSD UNIX, где была использована для нескольких игр, в частности, Rogue. curses является игрой слов от «cursor optimization» — «оптимизация курсора». Так как библиотека не привязана к конкретному типу терминала, программист, использующий её, может не брать в расчет различия отдельных типов терминалов. Данная библиотека имеет несколько вариантов, например, ncurses или PDCurses. Библиотека была портирована на большинство POSIX-совместимых ОС, а также Win32 и DOS (в основном PDCurses).
