Seppo Lehto

Seppo Olavi Lehto (born 6 September 1962 in Kuru) is a Finnish extreme right activist currently living in Tampere. The main theme of his activism is the return on Finnish territories occupied by Soviet Union in World War II. He also claims to lead several organizations and is the leader of Great Finland ( _fi. Suur-Suomi -yhdistys). He has become notorious for his numerous ‘filth blogs’ containing explicit racist insults illustrated with manipulated pornographic images and Patrioottiradio podcast radio site, which he used to hurl racist insults to politicians, civil servants and members of ethnic and religious minorities. After several probationary sentences, Lehto was sentenced to 2 years and 4 months in prison on several accounts of libel, slander of ethnic groups and violating peace of religion in May 2008. Among the plaintiffs were court officials of his previous trials, left wing politicians as well as a prominent African resident of Lehto's home town Tampere. Lehto has appealed against the sentence. He has also for example organized Prophet Muhammad Caricature contest and proposed that city of Tampere should build Adolf Hitler museum to attract more tourists. After receiving his sentence, he was widely hailed among anti-Islam bloggers as a champion of liberty jailed for free speech, and his imprisonment seen as a consequence of politically correct censorship and creeping Islamization.
