Selby is a parliamentary constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election.

Boundaries

The constituency covers the district of Selby and the southern suburbs of the city of York. It includes the University of York and the Drax and Eggborough power stations.

Boundary review

Following their review of parliamentary representation in York and North Yorkshire, the Boundary Commission for England has created a new seat of Selby and Ainsty. The new seat will lose the southern suburbs of York to the (also newly-created) seat of York Outer.
