Biography

Keegan was born in Stockport, Greater Manchester [1] with her parents splitting when she was 13; so she went to live with her mother and stepfather.[2] Her grandmother is Spanish from Gibraltar and Keegan has stated this is where her "exotic" looks come [3]

She attended St Patrick's RC High School in Salford and, later, the Manchester School of Acting. Before she became Tina McIntyre in Coronation Street, she was turned down for a part in Hollyoaks.[4][5][6] Keegan worked at Selfridges in the Trafford Centre shopping mall[7] and as a check-in agent at Manchester Airport.[5] She also had a small cameo appearance in Red Dwarf: Back to Earth.[8]

On 14 June 2009 Keegan made her radio debut co-hosting the BBC Radio 1 programme The Official Chart with Reggie Yates.[5]

Keegan was on the cover of FHM Magazine in January 2011, and placed #30 and #26 in the FHM 100 Sexiest Women poll for 2010 and 2011 respectively.[8]

Coronation Street (2008 - Present)

In late 2007, in only her second-ever audition, she was offered the chance to play the part of Tina McIntyre in Coronation Street, and accepted the role and she still plays this character to present day.[5]

Personal life

Keegan dated Hollyoaks actor Anthony Quinlan from 2006 to 2008 and model Brad Howard from 2008 to 2010. She is in a relationship with Max George from boyband The Wanted[6][9][10] and currently live in Irlam together.[4] They are now engaged to be married after George proposed to her before her birthday with a £10,000 ring as an extra birthday present, as well as a puppy.[11]
