Pipavav is located at Latitude 2054'N and Longitude 7130'E on the cost of Gujarat. By road it is located 2.5 Hrs (130Km) from Bhavnagar on the east and 1.5 hrs (89Km) from Diu in the west.

Pipavav is the location of Port Pipavav, which is the first private sector port in India (Reff: www.pipavav.com) this port also has a facility for a Ship breaking yard but it is not currently in use. Pipavav port is capable of handling container as well as bulk vessels and many shipping lines are using the port facilities currently. The cargo throughput for the port is available on their website.

Pipavav started operations in 1996 primarily to cater to the refrigerated cargo market of Veraval but has over the years developed into a port handling cargo moving in from various nearby and north/west India locations.

The nearest town to Pipavav is Rajula City which is 22Km away.
