Esquire (UK Edition)

Esquire (UK Edition)

"Esquire Magazine (UK edition)" is a monthly magazine for men owned by the National Magazine Company, a subsidiary of the US-based Hearst Corporation. The first edition was published Spring / Summer 1991.

The magazine features articles on luxe design and culture, food, business and technology, style, music and books. It is pitched at a similarly upscale audience to "GQ", attempting to offer a more adult read than lad mags like "Maxim" and "FHM".

Each month, "Esquire Magazine" (UK edition) features famous celebrities on its cover: recent cover girls have included such diverse personalities as Monica Belluci, Sienna Miller and Emily Blunt; and male celebrities from Matt Damon and George Clooney to Ewan McGregor have appeared on the cover. The first cover star was Brigitte Bardot.

The publisher's literature describes "Esquire" as "A lifestyle magazine for 'Men who mean business'. It is positioned beyond the young, single, lad-focused titles. Esquire is the only men’s lifestyle magazine to reflect the values and entertainment needs of British men with a sharper attitude.

"Esquire" delivers an entertaining, sophisticated & witty read, balancing interviews, thought provoking writing and quality photography in a stylish, accessible package." [http://www.natmags.co.uk/magazines/magazine.asp?id=3]
