London Buses route 274 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, United Kingdom. The service is currently contracted to Metroline.

History

The route was introduced on the 25 May 1991, to replace the withdrawn section of route 74 (between Camden Town and Baker Street), running between Marble Arch and Camden Town. The route initially used double deck Titans run from Chalk Farm Garage. During September 1992 the route was converted to midibus operation using Darts. On the closure of Chalk Farm Garage in 1993, the allocation transferred to Holloway Garage.

On 1 March 1997 the route was extended from Camden Town to Angel Islington and on 1 February 2003 the western end of the route was extended from Marble Arch to Lancaster Gate to create new public transport links upon the introduction of the congestion charging zone.

In July 2003 the allocation was transferred from the overcrowded Holloway Garage to a new base at Kings Cross.
