Iwerne Courtney

Iwerne Courtney, also known as Shroton, is a village in north Dorset, England, situated under Cranborne Chase in the Blackmore Vale. The village has a population of 400 (2001).

History

The 1901 census lists the Martin family living at Shirton Lynes, Iwerne Courtney. John aged 40 was a general thatcher, who lived there with his wife Annie (33) and children Cecil (11), Nellie 10, Florence 7, Elizabeth 3, Gilbert (1 month).
