Robert John Cornell, "O Praem" (born December 16, 1919) is an American politician who served as a member of the United States House of Representatives from Wisconsin, during 1975-1979. Cornell was born in Gladstone, Michigan in Delta County, Michigan; he attended parochial schools in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and got his B.A. from St. Norbert College, De Pere, Wisconsin, in 1941. In 1957, Cornell got his M.A., and Ph.D., from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C..

In 1944, he was ordained a Roman Catholic priest, for the Norbertine Order.

Cornell was a teacher of social sciences in parochial schools in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania during 1941-1947. He was a professor of history and political science, at St. Norbert College, in 1947-1974, and 1979 to the present.

He was the chairman of the Eighth Congressional District of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin in 1969-1974, and was a member, of the State Administrative Committee of Democratic Party of Wisconsin, 1969-1974.

Robert Cornell was elected as a Democrat to the Ninety-fourth and Ninety-fifth Congresses (January 3, 1975 - January 3, 1979), and was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1978 to the Ninety-sixth Congress.
