Winston Prepararory School is a co-ed day school located in New York City with a second school that opened in Norwalk, Connecticut in September 2007. It provides education for 6th through 12th grade students with learning differences such as dyslexia, nonverbal learning disabilities, expressive or receptive language disorders and attention deficit problems.

The school, started by a group of parents seeking an appropriate education for their children, is named after Sir Winston Churchill (who himself had learning disabilities). Winston Preparatory School is chartered by the State of New York and is a member of ISAAGNY, NYSAIS and NAIS.

The teaching staff is comprised of formally educated individuals with degrees in a wide range of disciplines. Faculty attended such schools as Columbia University, Harvard, MIT, Brown University, and Yale.

Winston's curriculum emphasizes skill development within the context of traditional course work. With a philosophy of "Education for the Individual", faculty employ a variety of methods and programs to address and remediate the students' deficits. The typical school day includes two periods each of English and Mathematics, one period each of History, Science and Focus, and one period of either Physical Education or Art. Approximately 95% of Winston graduates go on to college.

Focus Program

Winston Prep utilizes its trademark "Focus Program" to provide daily one-to-one instruction to all students. Sessions address each student's greatest area of need to build effective compensatory strategies for academic success.
