1959 inAuckland ,New Zealand ) is a filmmaker, actor , andmusician . He was a member of the musical/theatrical duoThe Front Lawn withDon McGlashan . This collaboration led to the production of threeshort film s "Walkshort ", "The Lounge Bar ", and "Linda's Body "; the latter featuring thesong "Ngaire ", which later became a hit for McGlashan's bandThe Mutton Birds . Since then, Sinclair has written, directed, and produced thefilm s "Topless Women Talk About Their Lives ", "The Price of Milk ", and "Toy Love".It is a commonly held misconception that rather than scripting all
dialogue , Sinclair involves the actors in the creative process, and films in chronological sequence. What he actually does is spend the week writing thescript and then only shooting for three days in the weekends. This allows him to explore ideas as they come to him and avoid the pitfalls ofdevelopment hell where creative ideas can be suppressed. There is no evidence that this process leads to any more input from the actors.Harry appeared as a minor character (Roger) in Braindead - his brother, Stephen, worked on the story and screen play. He also appeared, more notably, as
Isildur in "The Lord of the Rings" movie trilogy in which his only line "No" was redubbed byHugo Weaving .External links
