John I of Sweden

Johan Sverkersson (Old Norse: "Jón jarl Sörkvisson") (c. 1201 – 1222) was a Swedish king elected in 1216. He was crowned in 1219, and remained king till his death in 1222. He was the son of Sverker Karlsson.

John led an expedition to Estonia in 1220 that eventually ended in a defeat in the Battle of Lihula later the same year.

He died unmarried and childless.
