Memotec Data Incorporated was a small data processing and communications company based in Montreal, Quebec and came into the spolight when it purchased former crown corporation Teleglobe Canada in 1987 under the leadership of its president, William McKenzie. The company changed its name after the purchase of Teleglobe. Bell Canada Enterprises acquired a minority stake in Memotec in 1987 and Kontron Holdings.

The company was re-incorporated in 1993 as Memotec Communications Incorporated. The company was acquired by Comtech EF Data (Comtech Communications Incorporated) of Tempe, Arizona. Memotec's core business today is in data optimization.
