Gladestry

Gladestry is a small village in Powys, Mid Wales, close to the border with England at the end of the Hergest Ridge.

Population is 150-200 (Est).

Location

It's about 3 miles off the A44 road, the main trunk road from Hereford to Rhayader. Gladestry is about 6 miles from the small market town of Kington, Herefordshire.

Amenities

The village is part of a thriving farming and agricultural community. The village comprises a parish church, the Royal Oak pub, a small village shop, a primary school which educates around 50-60 children and a village hall.

The Offa's Dyke Path passes through the village and there are various footpaths and bridleways for walker, cyclist and horseback rider. Its main income is from farming and a local quarry a few miles away.
