"Late Imperial China" is an academic journal founded in 1981. The journal specializes in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It includes methodologically novel techniques in the study of political, intellectual, social, and gender history as well as historical demography. It often publishes work from historians all over the world. Articles include a Chinese glossary. The editor is Dr. William T. Rowe of the Johns Hopkins University.

The journal is published biannually in June and December. Circulation is 455 and the average length of an issue is 136 pages.
