Alexander Akimov

Alexander Akimov

Alexander Akimov (died May 1986) was the shift supervisor of the night crew that worked at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant on the night of the infamous accident, April 26, 1986. He died three weeks after the accident due to radiation poisoning. The exact date of his death is unknown as in order to cover up the accident, the Soviet government ordered his records to be destroyed.
