KLTA "FM 105.1" is a radio station based in Fargo, North Dakota, though licensed by the FCC to Breckenridge, Minnesota. It is owned by Go Radio Broadcasting, a division of Triad Broadcasting. The station runs a Hot AC format which plays current and past popular pop and Top Forty songs.

Triad Broadcasting also owns KQWB-AM 1660 (Sports), KQWB-FM 98.7 (Active rock), KVOX 99.9 (Country), and KPFX 107.9 (Classic rock) in the Fargo-Moorhead area.

History

The station signed on as KKIB in 1983 as the flagship station of contemporary hit radio (Top 40) formatted "Superstation Double K FM" network, which was also broadcast on KKWS 105.9 FM in Wadena, Minnesota and KKVC in Valley City, North Dakota. It then became KLTA in 1984 with an Adult Contemporary format as "Lite Rock 105". KLTA tweaked to a Hot AC format in 2004 with the "FM 105.1" moniker. In March 2006, a Radio Data System (RDS) was installed to the transmitter which brought title and artist information along with the broadcast to cars that accepted the RDS signal. KLTA's website later offered an online stream in April 2006.

Ownership

In May 1999, Triad Broadcasting reached a deal to acquire this station from Brothers Jim and Tom Instad as part of a twelve-station deal valued at a reported $37.8 million.
