Maria Theresia of Tuscany

Maria Theresia of Tuscany

Archduchess Maria Theresia Josepha Charlotte Johanna of Austria (January 14 1767 - November 7 1827) was the second wife of King Anthony Clement of Saxony.

Maria Theresia was born in Florence, Italy, the eldest child of Grand Duke Peter Leopold of Tuscany (later Leopold II, Holy Roman Emperor) and of his wife Infanta Maria Luisa of Spain.

On September 8 1787 Maria Theresia was married by proxy to King Anthony Clement of Saxony; the couple renewed their marriage vows in person at Dresden October 18 1787. Maria Theresia and Anthony Clement had four children all of whom died as infants.

Maria Theresia died at Leipzig in 1827.
