Forest Reserve Act of 1891
- Forest Reserve Act of 1891
The Forest Reserve Act of 1891 allowed the president to set aside forest reserves from the land in the public domain. It was passed by Benjamin Harrison. Harrison put 13 million acres (53,000 km²) of land into National forests; Grover Cleveland put in 25 million acres and William McKinley put in 7 million.
