Bali Memorial, Melbourne

The Bali Memorial in Melbourne is situated in Lincoln Square, Carlton, Victoria, facing Swanston Street. It commemorates the innocent victims of the 2002 Bali Bombing. 202 people perished in the bombings, including 91 Australians of whom 22 were Victorians.

The memorial was officially opened on 12 October 2005, the third anniversary of the bombing. Bali Memorial features a fountain, that incorporates 202 individual water sprouts; one for every individual lost in the catastrophe. For the 24 hours of 12th October, the 202 individual water sprouts stop and offer a place for those to reflect on those who died in the bombings.
