Jyesthadeva

Jyestadeva (ജ്യേഷ്ഠദേവ(ന്)) (1500 – 1575), was an astronomer of the Kerala school founded by Madhava of Sangamagrama and a student of Damodara. He is most known for authoring a commentary "Yuktibhasa", the first calculus text of the world. This work was unique at the time for its exacting proofs of the theorems it presented. He also authored the "Drk-karana" on astronomical observations.
