John Clymer

John Ford Clymer (January 29, 1907 - November 2, 1989) was an American painter and illustrator. He was born in Ellensburg, Washington and first studied art by correspondence courses.

Moving to Canada, Clymer studied art and began his career in producing materials for Canadian magazines. After he married, he moved to Connecticut to continue his studies and work.

He is known for his work that captured nature and the American West. He died in Wyoming.

There is another "John Clymer", an impressionist who painted landscapes and nautical scenes. Though sometimes confused with John Ford Clymer, they are two different people.
