Orchard Park Estate is an area or housing estate situated on the north-western side of Kingston upon Hull, England.

There were a number of primary schools in the area, but several of them were closed and merged with other schools.[citation needed] Current primary schools in the area include Thorpepark Primary, and The Parks Primary.[1] Sir Henry Cooper School is the only senior school in the area.[2]

In 2008, Hull City Council approved a bid for funding under the Housing PFI programme, titled "The Transformation of Orchard Park – Shaping the Place, Creating a Fruitful Future". This was approved by Housing Minister John Healey in July 2009, with an allocation of £156 million for council housing build and maintenance over the PFI period. However, in November 2010 the Government cancelled all "pipeline" Housing PFI initiatives, including Orchard Park.[3]

Despite the cancellation of the Housing PFI, some renewal projects will still be completed: the Orchard Centre, a new shopping centre, an Extra Care housing complex and the Northern Academy. High rise housing blocks that do not meet the Decent Homes Standard will be demolished.[3]
