Norman K. Moon

Norman K. Moon (born 1936) is a United States federal judge.

Born in Lynchburg, Virginia, Moon received a B.A. from the University of Virginia in 1959 and a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1962. He was in private practice in Lynchburg, Virginia from 1962 to 1974. He was a judge on the Twenty-fourth Judicial Circuit of Virginia from 1974 to 1985. He was a Chief judge from 1983 to 1984. He was a judge on the Court of Appeals of Virginia from 1985 to 1997. He was a Chief judge from 1993 to 1997. He received an LL.M. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1988.

Moon was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia. Moon was nominated by President Bill Clinton on October 8, 1997, to a seat vacated by Jackson L. Kiser. He was confirmed by the United States Senate on November 7, 1997, and received his commission on November 12, 1997. He took senior status on July 1, 2010.
