The Australian Minister for Defence Materiel is Jason Clare, who was appointed on 14 September 2010. The ministry is part of the portfolio of the Minister for Defence and is administered through the Department of Defence. This position was separated from the position of Minister for Defence Personnel in 2010.

There have also been ministers responsible for defence materiel at different times. From 1939 to 1974 there was a similar position of Minister of Supply or similar. From 1940 to 1948 there was also a Minister for Munitions and from 1941 to 1958 there was a Minister for Defence Production.
