EU Institute in Japan

The EU Institute in Japan (EUIJ, EU インスティチュート) is an organization of four universities in Tokyo (Hitotsubashi University, International Christian University, the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, and Tsuda College and three in Kansai (Kobe University, Kwansei Gakuin University, and Osaka University) that encourages the study of the European Union and related matters. It was started in 2004 in Tokyo and its expansion to Kansai the following year was welcomed in a joint press statement made at the 14th Japan-EU Summit.
