Rail gauge in Europe

Most railways in Europe use the standard gauge of 1435 mm. Some countries use broad gauge, of which there are three types. Narrow gauges also exist.

Broad gauge

*Russian gauge
**RailGauge|1520 : Former Soviet Union states
**RailGauge|1524 : Finland
*Irish gauge
**RailGauge|1600 : Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland
*Iberian gauge
**RailGauge|1668 : Portugal and Spain

Narrow gauge

High-speed

Apart from Russia and Finland, all high-speed trains in Europe run on standard gauge tracks.
