Jeff McCarthy

Jeff McCarthy is an American character actor who has appeared in television, theatre and films. He has made guest appearances on two Star Trek series; on ', he appeared in the season 3 episode "The Hunted" as Roga Danar, and in the pilot episode of ' entitled "Caretaker" as the unnamed chief medical officer of the USS Voyager who was killed in the premiere episode.

McCarthy has appeared in films such as the 1990 sequel "RoboCop 2", "Cliffhanger", "Eve of Destruction", "Rapid Fire" and the upcoming "Starting Out In the Evening" and "Consent".

He made guest appearances on television shows such as "", "Ed", "Designing Women", "Cheers", "Freddy's Nightmares", "Matlock", and "In the Heat of the Night". McCarthy was the voice of the Chuck Jones' creation, Michigan J. Frog, for the WB television network. McCarthy played the father of "Wayne"(Freddy Geiger) on the short lived CBS show Love Monkey.

In theatre, McCarthy played Officer Lockstock in the original cast of the Broadway musical "Urinetown". He also played the Beast in the Broadway production of "Beauty and the Beast" and Terry in the original cast of Side Show. In 2004, McCarthy reprised his role as the Beast in "Beauty and the Beast" for 8 weeks while Steve Blanchard was on a leave of absence to do another show. He played Dubhdara in the recent musical "The Pirate Queen".

McCarthy recently traveled to Strasbourg, France and Gabon, Africa to play the Nobel Peace Prize recipient Albert Schweitzer in the JOURNEY FILMS production, "ALBERT SCHWEITZER, Called to Africa". He is currently on Broadway playing Billy Flynn in "Chicago" at the Ambassador Theater.
